Profile: To help Ohio’s families find solutions to their temporary challenges, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services offers a wide range of assistance. This includes unemployment compensation, health care, child care, and employment and training assistance.

Services for Job Seekers:
Labor Exchange Services (LES) - Employment services provided under the Wagner-Peyser Act.

Unemployment Compensation Reemployment Services (UCRS) - A federally mandated program that selects certain UC recipients for additional services to aid them in their search for new employment.

Reemployment & Eligibility Assessments (REA) - One-on-one assessments to identify possible barriers to employment. Staff review the assessment results with the claimant to determine any barriers, the appropriate services necessary for eliminating the barriers and then develop a reemployment plan.

Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) & North American Free Trade Agreement Transitional Adjustment Assistance (NAFTA-TAA) - Special assistance to Ohio's workers who have lost their jobs due to foreign competition.

Migrant Seasonal Farm Workers (MSFW) - Specially trained bi-lingual staff perform a multitude of duties to aid Ohio's agricultural community.

Rapid Response - Statewide resources mobilized to assist local areas in provision of information and services to employers and employees, before, during and after lay offs.

Veterans' Services - Services to Ohio's military veterans provided in accordance with State and Federal law. Highly trained Veterans Intensive Service Coordinators (VISC) and Veterans' Business Outreach Specialists (VBOS) provide a multitude of services to our military veterans.

Services for Employers:
The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services offers services to employers in Wage & Labor Market Information, New Hire Reporting, Foreign Labor Certification, Recruitment, Tax Credit Information, Training Assistance, Unemployment Compensation, and Workplace Safety.
