Online Forms: Foodstamp/OWF/Medicare Healthy Start/Healthy Families Help with Medicare Expenses All Online Forms Profile: The Columbiana County Department of Job and Family Services (CDJFS) is committed to working with the community to identify, develop, and provide supportive services necessary to empower all residents of Columbiana County to achieve self-sufficiency. Programs and services administered by the CCDJFS include: adoption, child care, child support, Seek Work, Food Stamps, foster care, Medicaid, Ohio Works First, the Prevention, Retention and Contingency program, protective services and workforce development. As employees of Columbiana County Department of Job and Family Services, our mission is to work together to understand and assess the needs of our community, to facilitate independence and to provide appropriate services in a caring and compassionate manner. Services for jobseekers: Child Care: This program is designed for parents and custodial care-givers who are found eligible for child care assistance based on family size and gross monthly income. If the family meets the income guidelines, the county pays a portion of child care while the parents are at work, attending school or training. Child Support Enforcement Agency (CSEA) Child Support: This program works to ensure that children receive the financial support non-residential parents are legally obligated to provide. The program provides a variety of services, ranging from the enforcement of financial and medical obligations to legally identifying the father of the child. CSEA Seek Work Program: In addition, the CSEA provides job search assistance through the Seek Work program. This service is offered to non-custodial parents who are unable to pay their obligated child support due to unemployment or other employment situations. Though participation is usually court ordered, non-custodial parents could volunteer to participate. Assistance could include referral to job fairs, educational information, and other supportive services to assist the parent in obtaining gainful employment. A Seek Work coordinator works with the particpant to develop a job search plan and monitor compliance. Medical: Medicaid Medicaid provides health coverage to a number of different groups of people who meet financial requirements. There are two major groups, Covered Families and Children; and People who are Aged, Blind or have a Disability (ABD). Each major group has several programs. Food: Food: Food Stamps This program helps people with low incomes obtain nutritious food. Food Stamps are used to purchase specific staples and grocery items at participating grocery stores. Transportation: Prevention, Retention and Contingency Program (PRC) May assist with car repairs, driver''s education classes, insurance, driver''s license fees or license plates fees may be paid for employed individuals with income less than 200% FPL and have a minor child in the household or a legal obligation to pay child support. CCDJFS: Other Prevention Retention and Contingency Supplies for new job ( mechanic''s tools, work boots, uniforms, etc.) may be paid for employed individuals with income less than 200% FPL and have a minor child in the home or a legal obligation to pay child support. Other: Prevention, Retention and Contingency Individuals may be eligible for assistance to pay for pre-employment testing, testing for state licenses, short term education expenses, etc. if income is less than 200% FPL and they have a minor child in the home or a legal obligation to pay child support. CCDJFS Prevention, Retention and Contingency Contingency services such as utility shut-offs or security deposits are available for families with minor children where the parent is employed at least 20 hours per week or in short term training that will lead to employment. Services for employers: Development: Job Development Job Developer works with employers to secure job orders for subsidized, unsubsidized and work experience sites. Will also include developing job leads to match skills of OWF applicants/participants for paid employment or work experience sites.
