Future Columbiana County entrepreneurs are invited to attend a workshop on Tuesday, May 27th, to learn how to start a new business. Two identical workshops will be presented at the Kent Salem City Center in downtown Salem, an afternoon session from 2 to 4 pm, and an evening session from 6 -8 pm. Joe Belinsky from the Small Business Development Center Kent State Tuscarawas campus will help participants explore issues related to starting and operating their own business. Topics to be presented include: - How to obtain financing
- Writing your business plan
- Market demand
- Advertising and marketing strategies
- Risks involved in starting a new business
- Advantages and disadvantages of being your own boss
- Resources available to help you succeed.
Individuals in the early stages of starting a business are also encouraged to attend this business training session, sponsored jointly by the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce and KSU’s Salem and East Liverpool Workforce Development and Continuing Studies Department.
